Comparison

Compare the two reviewed Torrentshell 3L cuts

The Patagonia Men's Torrentshell 3L Rain Jacket (style 85241) and Women's Torrentshell 3L Rain Jacket (style 85246) are related but distinct current products in the official US catalog. They share the family name and many manufacturer-listed design features. The separate style numbers matter: do not use one listing, size chart or image to stand in for the other.

What the current product pages share

Both pages identify a regular fit and a three-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell. Each names an ECONYL® recycled nylon ripstop face, polycarbonate PU membrane with 13% biobased content, tricot backer and DWR finish; both use the same “without intentionally added PFAS” wording for fabric, membrane and finish. Each lists a two-way-adjustable hood with laminated visor, microfleece-lined neck, center zipper with external and internal storm flaps, two handwarmer pockets, venting pit zips, self-stow into the left handwarmer pocket, cuff tabs and adjustable hem.

What the source records keep separate

The men's style is 85241 and its listed weight is 400 g (14.1 oz). The women's style is 85246 and its listed weight is 352 g (12.4 oz). Both are regular fit, but Patagonia supplies distinct men's and women's size-chart paths. Neither page's fit label is a body measurement, and the weight difference does not establish a performance advantage or a better fit.

What the pages do not settle

Neither of these product records provides the garment measurements needed to compare sleeve length, room at a particular size, packed volume or breathability in a common numeric test. Nor do the sources prove a jacket will seal out water for a particular person or after a particular period of use. Bring those questions to the exact item and its current instructions.

Read the separate men's assessment and women's assessment rather than combining the variants into one page.
